Lots of people dream of having their own swimming pool, especially during the nice weather, not only is swimming good for you, but a pool can mean fun and relaxation. Imagine waiting in traffic queues or on a stuffy train, after a long day at work, getting home and diving or slipping gently into cool water. If a full on Olympic size [or even small] swimming pool is a little out of your price range, how about the next best thing? A private spa, which can result in pleasurable hours sitting around with friends and family [and perhaps a glass of proseco!]

These little gems are all the rage lately, and perfect if you are planning to have more ‘staycations’. By creating your own little sanctuary in the garden, you get the ideal affordable compromise for entertaining or simply enjoying quietly. Designing and implementing your own ‘spa garden’ is a hugely rewarding activity, and will attract admiration from far and wide.

The best setting for your exciting new addition would be a suntrap area, that has some shelter, and one that is not completely overlooked for added privacy. Walls will provide protection from strong breezes and retain warmth, and lighter surfaces will reflect heat. A fairly fast, low cost way to create an enclosure is to put in posts with wires and wire netting, or trellis. You can then choose a selection of climbing plants which will flower and look lovely, perhaps something like honeysuckle to create a wonderful sweet fragrance. You could also use faux plants and flowers, which now come in an amazing variety, are very realistic and won’t die off.

Paving or decking is good for surrounding the spa, and weather resistant furniture is great to use for pre or post soaking! If you have a power source handy a small fridge will keep those all important drinks or snacks cool. Strategically placed solar lighting will give extremely attractive effects, as will battery operated fairy lights. Pretty tea lights in jam jars or electric candles are also available and look gorgeous dotted around.

You will find a wide range of hire machinery, tools and equipment for your project in Basildon at Rhino Plant Hire, along with lots of help and sound advice.
